Part 2 of this laptop’s upgrade. Here I upgrade the RAM on the system from the stock 6 GB to 16 GB. That completes the upgrade of the laptop.

Objective: Upgrade the RAM from stock 6 GB (1600 MHz) to 16 GB (O.C. to 2133 MHz)

With the new SSD and the RAM, the system performs much better running Windows 10 Pro. Essentially, this recipe can be used for just about any poorly performing laptop built between 2008 and 2014 (and possibly beyond). But watch the prices carefully, especially the RAM. Wait for the price of RAM to come down before purchasing. Track the lowest and highest prices on various websites to see if you are getting a good deal; for example at PC Part Picker.
