In this video I demonstrate how to upgrade a magnetic-based hard disk drive in a laptop to a solid-state drive. In short: HDD to SSD upgrade!
The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite E45 (B4100). The current hard drive failed with an Ntoskrnl.exe error. I show how to fix that error elsewhere but I wanted to upgrade this hard drive anyway. The new drive is a Samsung 850 EVO and it outperforms the original drive by quite a lot. Boot up times, logins, program launch, and basic usage are all faster using Windows 10 Pro, which was what was installed originally.
