Network+ Question of the day: What is wrong with the IP configuration of the main Ethernet adapter in the figure? (see answer below and video response.)

Answer

The problem is that either the IP address or the gateway address is configured improperly. After reviewing our network documentation (and identifying the network number as 192.168.0.0) we can see that it is the gateway address that needs to be reconfigured (which is a common issue).  The third octet is incorrect. The gateway address should be changed from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.1.
